At Bathurst Dental Care, we provide professional, high value dental care services at economical rates. That said, we greatly encourage our patients to practice preventative oral health care to keep their dental expenses to a minimum, and to avoid more serious oral health issues and costly treatment in the future.
Our oral health dentists strongly recommend relatively inexpensive dental checkups and oral hygiene visits on a regular basis – to all our patients. Dental cleaning kits, oral health education material for kids and preventative oral health information are all available FREE from the Bathurst Dental Care clinic and/or website.
We also recommend that you obtain private dental cover to reduce your annual dental care expenses. Please remember to bring your health insurance card with you whenever you visit.

Depending on which health fund you are with, we can also provide instant quotes. We can inform you of the amount claimable from your health fund before treatment. This will save you the inconvenience of calling or waiting for your health fund provider to respond.

Child Dental Benefits Scheme
Although Medicare does not cover dental treatment for the majority of patients, there is a current scheme available to eligible patients to receive financial support for basic dental services for children aged 2-17
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a government program that provides financial assistance to low income families for their children’s dental care. The program can provide up to $1,000 per eligible child towards basic dental services such as
- examinations
- x-rays
- cleaning
- fillings
- extractions
- root canals
Eligibility is assessed by the Department of Human Services each calendar year and vouchers are sent to eligible families. You can confirm your child’s eligibility and balance amount by accessing your Medicare online account at my.gov.au or by calling the Medicare general enquiry line on 132 011.
